Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Slide Through Passing

Pressure passing is one of the highest-percentage methods of passing the guard in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This two-hour No-Gi clinic focuses on developing a pressure-based passing system centered on the Slide Through Pass, emphasizing concepts and principles over memorizing techniques.

Students will learn how to establish pressure, break the guard, control an opponent’s hips, and execute the Slide Through Pass using proper body mechanics rather than relying on speed, explosiveness, or athleticism. Instruction emphasizes understanding why techniques work, allowing students to adapt their passing against opponents who resist.

The seminar also addresses one of the most common questions in guard passing: What happens when my opponent defends? Rather than forcing a pass that is no longer available, students will learn how to recognize defensive reactions and transition into high-percentage follow-up attacks.
