DESCRIPTION:

Vehicle Lab is a highly advanced 8-hour live-fire course focused on fighting in, around, and through vehicles.

Vehicles are part of everyday life. Whether driving, riding as a passenger, fueling at a gas station, or moving through a parking lot, students should understand both the advantages and limitations vehicles present during armed encounters. This course is designed to take theoretical concepts and apply them through structured live-fire training, ballistic experimentation, and problem-solving involving vehicles.

Instruction will cover solo and team-based vehicle tactics, concealment vs. cover, movement around vehicles, vehicle positioning, occupant extraction/egress considerations, and engaging threats from inside and outside the vehicle. Students will work through practical shooting problems involving unconventional shooting positions, use of cover, confined spaces, and engagement angles commonly encountered around vehicles.

A major component of this course is the Ballistics Lab. Students will observe and participate in live ballistic demonstrations involving automotive glass, doors, pillars, sheet metal, and other common vehicle materials. This portion of the course is designed to demonstrate projectile deflection, fragmentation, penetration characteristics, visibility issues, and realistic ballistic performance in and around vehicles.

Unlike many vehicle-based courses, this class includes live fire shooting both into and out of vehicles, along with ballistic analysis and practical application. Students will gain a realistic understanding of how vehicles behave during armed encounters rather than relying on outdated assumptions or internet myths.

This is a physically demanding, performance-based training environment. Students should expect extended time working in and around vehicles, movement with firearms, communication under stress, and strict adherence to safe gun handling standards.
